Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FarmConnect LLC ("FarmConnect," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FarmConnect mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
FarmConnect is a local listings and pickup-reservation marketplace. It connects shoppers ("Consumers") with local farmers, food producers, and artisans ("Producers"). FarmConnect does not process payments — Consumers arrange and pay for goods directly with Producers in person at pickup.
1. Information we collect
Information Producers provide. To list on FarmConnect, a Producer creates an account and provides: an email address and password (used to sign in), business/profile details (such as farm or business name, owner name, general location or pickup area, and optional social-media links), and product listings (names, descriptions, prices, units, labels, and photos you upload).
Information Consumers provide. You do not need an account to browse or to reserve. When you submit a pickup reservation to a Producer, you provide your name and contact details (email and/or phone number), a preferred pickup time, the items you want to reserve, and an optional note. If you report content or a user, you provide the reason and, optionally, your email so we can follow up.
Information collected automatically. We collect the limited technical data needed to operate the app (for example, requests your device makes to our backend to load listings and submit reservations). When anyone taps "Get Directions" for a Producer, we log an anonymous engagement event (which Producer was tapped, and when) to help Producers gauge interest — this contains no personal information about you.
What we do not do. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, we do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies in the app, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not collect your device's precise GPS location. (Choosing "Get Directions" opens your device's separate maps app; we don't access your location to do it.)
2. How we use information
We use information to: operate and provide the Service; show Producer listings to Consumers; deliver a Consumer's reservation and contact details to the specific Producer they chose; let Producers manage their listings, reservations, and order status; maintain safety and moderate content; respond to support requests and reports; and comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
With the Producer you choose. When you submit a reservation, your name, contact details, items, pickup time, and any note are shared with that one Producer so they can fulfill the pickup. They are not shared with other Producers.
With service providers. We host data with Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and send account emails through Resend (email delivery), each of which processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy terms.
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or FarmConnect.
We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or similar laws — we do not exchange it for money and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising. No payment information is processed by FarmConnect because no payments flow through the Service.
4. Data storage, security, and retention
Data is stored on our backend provider's infrastructure and protected with access controls (row-level security so each Producer can access only their own data) and encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate legal/operational purposes. Reservation records may be retained so Producers and FarmConnect can maintain order and safety history; we may anonymize records rather than delete them where appropriate.
5. Your choices and rights
Producers — delete your account in-app. A logged-in Producer can permanently delete their account from the app (Profile → Delete my account). This removes your listings and photos, strips personal details from your Producer record, and deletes your login.
Consumers. Because reservations don't require an account, you control what you share each time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with you, contact us at farmconnectsupport@proton.me.
Depending on where you live (for example, California/CCPA or the EEA/UK/GDPR), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, and the right to opt out of "sales" of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise any right, contact farmconnectsupport@proton.me.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email address, phone number, account/user ID) and user content (product photos, listings, and reservation notes), each used only for the App Functionality purposes described above. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You have the right to know, access, delete, and correct your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Submit requests to farmconnectsupport@proton.me.
6. Children
FarmConnect is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will post the new version with an updated "Last updated" date and, where required, provide additional notice.
